Nature photo of the day: haystack in Breb, Romania.
how long could you look at a haystack if you had the chance would you see the many hours that went into creation or is that something beyond your grasp do you know when the grass is just right for scything by hand how long it takes to dry how often it needs to be turned and turned again if the sky weeps, would you trust your instincts and build little heaps, like gumdrops, to ward off the drops of rain and when the sun comes out are you prepared to rake and toss the hay up to the sky for the person waiting on top of the pile four - or more - meters high will you comb it down with your trusty hay rake complete with wooden teeth and leave it to the elements until the animals in the stable all say it is time to taste that delicious hay you baked in the sun and fretted for in the rain could you imagine the work it takes simply by seeing a picture of an aging haystack - Cheryl M.
If you’ve never seen a haystack with your own two eyes, you simply must come to Breb and take a tour to see the handiwork of the villagers. Maybe even help out in the summer months too.
