Nature photo of the day: wild nature in the cemetery.
When was the last time you walked in a cemetery, if for no other reason than paying a visit to nature?
It’s been almost a week since we last visited the cemetery in Breb, Romania, yet it’s still on my mind. The ornamental plants that appear nowhere else in the village, the different species of trees and the ages of them too.
The largest oaks I’ve ever seen haven’t been in a forest, but in a place that honors the dead. Oaks that reach ages of 500 years or more, standing tall and left to ponder all that has been left behind…
And then there are the iconic haystacks which dot the more open landscape, they come to their end after one short year.
the haystack is leaning blown by the wind less than perfect it still fits in sitting and waiting weathering every storm until the day it is reborn - Cheryl M.
Journal prompt of the day:
When was the last time I noticed something incredible in nature?
The stag beetle we shared yesterday was an event that we are unlikely to forget anytime soon. But incredible doesn’t always have to be good, sometimes it can be quite alarming, like a storm, or picking an ice cream tub full of slugs from the garden. We’ll spare you the pictures of that! For now anyway...
