The snow isn't too far off...

and the frost is already on the doorstep.

the change was sudden
as changes often are
one moment was sunny
then clouds came flying in from afar
to cover the sky
as if to say
no, you won't see the sun today
and then it rained
and the clouds strayed
but only for a day
until night fell
and the stars shimmered on the roof of the sky
as the dew became frost 
on the first morning of October.
