Overwhelming abundance.
Everyone & everything is just chewing their way through the best they can.
Nature photo of the day: wasps going to town on a sweet fallen pear.
Just the other day I noticed that the pears were starting to fall. One by one at first, then five by five, and then the summer winds came…

So the three of us quickly stepped into action, harvesting a few bowls worth of ripe pears, in order to scythe the grass they were hiding in, as it is far easier (and safer, from the wasps featured above) to harvest pears directly from the ground, rather than reach blindly into tall grass.
Then suddenly, out of nowhere, and for no apparent reason I got sick. No warning, just waking up with chills and a headache to beat the band, along with stomach pains, and more — just to add my own special Cheryl-ish touch to the already overwhelming situation.
