Nature photo of the day: mountains as far as the eye can see on the Ukrainian-Romanian borderlands.
A couple of days ago, Roland had to help a neighbor out with scything by hand around a hay field, because the tractor couldn’t cut the grass on a slope - or too close to the fence.
See where I’m going with this here?
Machines, though they are seemingly everywhere, don’t belong everywhere.
And while they may be useful for some things, they aren’t useful for everything.
Like multi-purpose tractors fitting in between orchard trees, it just doesn’t make for the most fitting of combinations.
But, in other words, it’s this view that the title is about. It’s just three properties higher from where we live. A bit of a climb, but being up there really makes a difference in how much one can see of the world.
When you look at nature from up close, you can really hone in on the details.
bees bathe in pollen buzzing from one flower to another some are happy to share others guard their blooms gathering golden dust and in the evening take their pillages home proudly looking at their laden legs in the mirror knowing that they fulfilled their purpose all the bees go to bed at eight pm no need to stay up late for tomorrow will be a busy day - Csermely
As for the journal prompt of the day:
Mountains make me feel ___________. Why is this so?
Some people dread hills and mountains, finding the terrain rough or difficult, even downright scary, while others search for them to climb and explore with enthusiasm. As you start your day, make sure to find some gratitude in your heart for mountains!
