Have a hollyful January! And I just wanted to tell you that...
The magic of the holly bush is just as powerful this year, as it was a thousand years ago.
Nature photo of the day: focusing on holly.
for time eternal holly has grown on the land and in our souls fetching light from the aether and gifting it back to the earth it reminds humankind of the fact that we can bring about whatever we wish in our lives newly, it is called manifestation when the truth happens to be that with a dab of focus on what you want and a tad of credence that you are truly worthy of what you wish you may create e v e r y t h i n g you desire - Csermely
We’ve been resting after the holidays (or holly-days), eating good food, watching snow come and go, while working on our own bodies and minds, in many ways… We’re planning to do more of that later in the coming year.
We have just spent a couple of days in the city, which always reminds us of how fast-paced city life is. At the same time, you feel like you never get enough done, on a hamster wheel which you possibly do not even know you are on. Sorry for that little rant, it just wanted to run a few circles!
When in the city, we always make sure to get outside. Yesterday we took a 4-hour walk, and today, before heading home, we took some pictures of a wondrous holly bush growing outside of our weekend accommodation.
It is said that fairies and other elementals spend the winter months snuggled up in holly bushes, protected by the bush. Whether you believe this or not, it’s definitely true that you shouldn’t cut out a holly bush unless the holly died of natural, non-human causes - if you do, bad luck will be inflicted upon you.
The holly represents wealth, prosperity, and inner strength, which are all greatly needed as we head through these difficult times.
Holly, as a wood, is useful in many areas of life, from delicate furniture to walking sticks. Wands can also be made out of the holly wood. Witches used holly for spells, and the witches of today, though few and far between, use holly, too.
Legend has it that witches did not fly over holly bushes, though, since it was thought to bring misfurtune upon you. Whichever fable you choose to believe, most definitely holly is a truly magical shrub.
As for the journal prompt of the day:
In what ways could I bring in wealth, spiritual and physical, into my life in 2025?
Ilex aquifolium is found all over the Earth. So is prosperity and affluence, though we sometimes have a hard time finding it in ourselves. Therefore, this year, create wealth in your life with focused strength, love and resilience. With gratitude for the magic in your life, above all.
Share your experiences, if you have any, about this plant, plus how you’re bringing wealth into your life just now.
With gratitude,
Csermely
