Contributor Guidelines

We are currently seeking quality contributions to the Daily Dose of Nature!

More specifically we are looking for:

  • a nature photo of the day

  • a poem related to that specific photo of your taking

  • and a journal prompt to reflect on Earthly connections

If you’ve been a reader for some time, you’ll have already sensed the energy of our general style. Sometimes critical, more often than not positive and always with an eye for the beauty that goes unnoticed around you — wherever you may be in the world.

When making your submission, please include the following 3 items:

  1. Photograph(s) of nature (maximum of three) must be taken by you and may include any and all aspects of the natural world. Landscapes, gardens, insects, birds, wild-er animals, clouds, waterscapes - it all fits in. We do not accept AI images, nor those with humans or companion animals. Minimum pixel width is 1200. Horizontal shots only. See examples below.

  2. Poem related to your nature photo of the day. Maximum 30 lines.

  3. Journal prompt to share with all Substack readers.

We encourage you to read through our archives for inspiration in developing your photos, poems and prompts. Of course, being nature, everything is open to interpretation.

It doesn’t matter where you live, or what part of the world you call home. The main requirement is that you love living on Earth.

In exchange for your words and pictures we will link to your Substack profile, as well as link to 2 more sites such as social media or your personal website.

Please make sure that your photo is sent as an attachment and your poem and journal prompt are in the body of the email.

Other important details.

To become a contributor, you must be a current subscriber to the Daily Dose of Nature.

Articles from contributors will be published on Sundays, so as many people as possible can see the co-creators best work. That would be you and nature.

Also, be sure to focus on the positive aspects of nature. The earth needs more good vibes and best wishes from the inhabitants of the land.

Wishing you many happy moments outdoors!
